Please take part in “BUILDING RESILIENCE IN YOUTH”
BUILDING RESILIENCE IN YOUTH requires the efforts of a whole “village”. As a community organization for nurturing East Asian youth, Across U-hub is committed to embrace it as an intentional and proactive step to address the social and emotional needs of our young people and to equip them to be future leaders. All these require dedicated staff, professional support, resources, and, of course, solid funding to ensure its effectiveness and sustainability.
Your moral and GENEROUS SUPPORT, which will make a DIFFERENCE in the work of Across, but more importantly, the LIVES OF OUR YOUNG PEOPLE.

Gift of Stocks / Securities
Another way to give is by making a Gift of Stocks or Securities. The Government has recently made it very attractive for you to donate shares to charities like Across U-hub. When you donate publicly traded shares directly to Across U-hub, you pay no tax on the capital gains and you receive a tax receipt for the full market value of the gift. To donate a Gift of Stock or Securities, please click here. A form “Letter of Direction” will open for you to fill out. If you have any questions, please contact Penny Leung at 905-944-1944 or email [email protected]

This e-book, which will be published in the next few months on different social media platforms, covers stories about unsung heroes in our Chinese Canadian community during COVID-19. These heroes are mostly individuals who have been hit hard by the crisis – for example, essential workers, restaurant owners and small businesspersons. With training and mentorship, our young volunteers conduct interviews and capture through their eyes the narratives of how these heroes have weathered and braved through waves of COVID-19 while still caring for the well-being of people around them, including family members, employees, etc.
We hope you will also find this special project meaningful and can support it by considering the sponsorship. Your support means a great deal to us, and will make it possible for us to serve youth who need our care and support.

Consider these benefits when donating to Across
The federal government’s Budget 2013 established a First-Time Donor’s Super Credit to encourage charitable donations from first-time donors or those who have not claimed a charitable donation on their taxes in the last five years. It’s a great opportunity for anyone making their first charitable gift.
Charitable donations are eligible for tax credits. That means you get a certain portion of your donation back on your tax return. The standard federal tax credit for a donation is 15 per cent for the first $200 donated and 29 per cent for donations above that level. The Super Credit increases these federal tax credits by 25 per cent for those who have not made donations recently.
If neither you nor your spouse has claimed a donation tax credit in any year for the five preceding years, this CRA ruling indicates that you may now be eligible for tax credits as follows:
- Donations up to and including $200: 40 per cent tax credit
- Donations between $201 and $1,000: 54 per cent tax credit
