In this 12-week series, participants have explored relationship with self, with one’s own emotions, with other living creatures and the earth.
Art is always seen as a communication platform to connect our emotion and soul. Viewers may feel the expression and response when looking at an artwork. Making art isn’t only about one person. Through art making individually or with a group, it would provide a therapeutic relationship within yourself and among a community of people. Art Commune is a serial of 6 art making sessions, which help participants to explore themselves and build up true friendships with others by making art and through group sharing.
In each phase of our lives, we seem to have a different goal, where it be getting an education degree, finding a job, reaching a certain milestone. When we strive we become goal-oriented, we become focused on our goals – the outcome. But what about things that have been around us all the time? Have we ever had the time to pay attention to the little things around us that make up our lives?
This series we will begin looking at seemingly insignificant things around us that are actually the things that make our lives worth living. Each session will be titled “____ is around us” and we will be exploring each of the themes with different forms of art. From photography to writing Haiku, the themes of “courage”, “happiness”, “hope” and so on will be seen in new and fun ways as we ponder over the beauty around us that makes life great.
We will also be making a series of postcards each week to reflect upon each theme and it will be just in time for the Christmas holiday to send them to your friends and family with this gift!
