What is Earth Hour?

Earth Hour, organized by WWF, is a global grassroots movement uniting people to take action on environmental issues and protect the planet. Engaging a massive mainstream community, Earth Hour was famously started as a lights out event in Sydney, Australia in 2007. Since then, it has grown to engage millions of supporters in more than 185 countries and territories, inspiring individuals and organizations worldwide to take action for the environment, and driving major legislative changes by harnessing the power of the crowd.

Objectives

  • Raise awareness about the significant impact of food waste that our planet is facing
  • Inspire participants to take meaningful action to protect the environment and contribute to a sustainable future
  • Discuss concrete tips and tricks to reduce our daily environmental impacts

What will the program include?

  • Engage in interactive group activities to enhance awareness.
  • Collaboratively create a simple candlelight dinner together to emphasize the importance of mindful consumption.
  • Join the global initiative by switching off lights for 60+ minutes during Earth Hour.
  • Video and PowerPoint presentation highlighting our city’s effort in responding to climate change and addressing food waste.
