Tomorrow Starts Today: Neighbourhood Makeover

Ready to make a real impact — not just talk about it?

Since 2010, Across U-hub has been empowering youth to take action for the planet through our Tomorrow Starts Today programs. These initiatives equip young people to become socially responsible citizens through hands-on environmental stewardship. We believe the future of our planet is shaped by what we do today — because actions speak louder than words.

This spring and summer, we’re stepping up again to beautify our neighbourhoods through the Adopt-a-Park and Adopt-a-Road programs.

As of July 30, 2026, our community came together to collect over 360 pounds of garbage and recyclables — and we’re just getting started!

  • Youth of 16 and above

** Volunteers will earn 2-2.5 community service hours.

What is Adopt-a-Park?

Since January 2024, Across U-hub has proudly adopted Risebrough Park through the City of Markham’s Adopt-a-Park Program. This initiative empowers volunteers to maintain clean, safe, and welcoming green spaces while serving as the city’s “eyes and ears”.

What is Adopt-a-Road?

In May 2025, inspired and initiated by our passionate volunteers, Across U-hub adopted a section of Warden Avenue (from Steeles Avenue to Denison Street) through York Region’s Adopt-a-Road Program. This initiative promotes community pride and shared responsibility in keeping our streets clean and beautiful.

What will you do?

  • Roll up your sleeves for a hands-on community cleanup
  • Spot and report issues like vandalism or illegal dumping
  • Be a voice for environmental change
  • Connect with other youth who actually care
