Learn to Camp 2016
offers learning opportunities for youth to develop camping skills, self-development and teamwork ability.
Through a two-day-one-night guided experience by camping experts, participants will be given the opportunity to develop basic camping skills at the beautiful Emily Provincial Park. Through learning sessions and hands-on experience, participants will be able to learn new skills in a safe and fun environment.

Objective

Learn how to camp for beginners through a guided overnight camping experience at an Ontario Park

Enjoy the outdoors by experiencing the beautiful Emily Provincial Park

Learn some interpersonal and create strong friendships with other participants by bonding through the camping experience

Escape the city and embrace nature by engaging in outdoor activities such as hiking, star-glazing and campfire.

What will you learn?

Basic camping skills including how to set-up the camp, how to prepare a meal, and lighting a campfire.

Teamwork skills through participating in different camping activities as a group such as setting up a tent, cooking and canoing.

What will the camp include?

  • All equipment required for camping (excludes bedding and personal items)
  • Access to flush toilets, hot showers, and safe drinking water
  • Transportation and 4 meals covered!
