How?

Off office-hours: Drop off your donation in the collection bin by the reception area of 105 Gibson Centre

Objective

  • Raise awareness for the under privileged in our community, including the newly arrived Syrian refugees
  • In support of the food drive by 105 Gibson Centre
  • Collect non-perishables for people struggling with hunger regardless of gender, age, race, and disability
  • Fight hunger through bi-monthly non-perishable food donations

We are looking for non-expired donations of:

  • Canned luncheon meat
  • Instant coffee/Teabags
  • Pasta sauce
  • Evaporated milk
  • Cereal
  • Jam
  • Canned fruit
  • Canned vegetables (Green beans, peas, or carrots)
  • Kidney Beans
  • Crackers
  • Sugar
  • Small bags of rice
  • Instant oatmeal
  • Flaked ham/chicken/turkey
  • Canned juice/juice packs
  • Cooking oil
  • Children’s diapers (size 1-5)

Why are we doing this

  • Develop a sense of compassion and awareness for those are under privileged
  • Empower the individuals understanding that they can make an impact on society though small actions such as donating food to the hungry
  • Recognize better alternatives to deal with unwanted non-perishable foods rather than throwing it into the trash
