Adversity to Opportunity: Resilience in Pandemic 疫危.亦機

The Live Webinar is co-organized by Across U-hub and Markham.Richmond Hill.Vaughan Chinese Business Association (MRVCBA). MRVCBA is a non-profit organization situated in the Markham, Richmond Hill and Vaughan area. We encourage communication between Chinese businesses, industry professionals, and political bodies. We recognize the importance of youth in our community to develop skills that will help them become successful in the workplace or in entrepreneurial endeavors. The MRVCBA Youth Chapter is an opportunity for young people in our community to meet and develop relationships with community leaders and business people, while gaining skills they will need in the future.

The Live Webinar will be hosted by Tiana Chu and Joseph Tsang. Three young Chinese Canadian professionals – Jeff Chan, Evelyn Kwong and Simon Li will be presented in English in the Webinar.

Simon Li

Director of Sales, Menkes Developments

Jeff Chan

Jeff Chan is the Senior Manager of Consumer Trends & Marketing Innovation at TD. His team identifies consumer-driven trends that may influence how TD transforms for the future. Jeff studied Computer Science at the University of Windsor and has 14 years of digital and product strategy experience across online retail, financial services and startups.

Evelyn Kwong

Evelyn Kwong is a journalist in Toronto whose passion is covering inequities, human stories, and spotlighting voices that are often unheard. Currently, she’s working as editor at the Toronto Star on the audience and social media. She writes a weekly Star column, #MillennialMoney, she hopes to broaden her audience to younger Canadians, with an intersectional lens. At the Star she trains reporters and editors to utilize social tools to research and find sources.
