The call for performance: By combining the gritty “Cantonese hustle” with the timeless values of Faith, Hope, and Love, you create a festival that feels both culturally relevant and spiritually grounded.

We are looking for East Asian youth and “experienced dreamers” to showcase their journey. This is more than a stage; it is a passing of the torch. We celebrate the process of striving, the grit of the chase, and the beauty of life-valuing experiences.

By emphasizing “The Art of Becoming”, performers don’t need to be “successful” by worldly standards to be on the stage,
they just need to be faithful to their journey.

I. Performance Criteria & Guidelines

To ensure the festival remains a safe, encouraging, and high-energy environment, all submissions must adhere to the following:

  • Regional Focus: Primarily open to youth and performers of East Asian descent or those deeply connected to East Asian culture.
  • The Message: Content must be positive, encouraging, and purposeful. We want to see your “fire” (團火) — show us how you strive, even when success isn’t guaranteed.
  • Core Values: Performances should align with the Christian spirit of Faith, Hope, and Love (信、望、愛).
    o Faith: Belief in one’s calling and the courage to take the first step.
    o Hope: Resilience through the “unfinished” moments of the journey.
    o Love: Supporting fellow dreamers and honoring those who paved the way.
  • Content Standards: Strictly NO profanity, “dirty” language, or overly sexualized themes. We celebrate the “Art of Becoming” through dignity and talent.
  • The “Continuity” Factor: We highly encourage performances that show a bridge between generations (e.g., a mentor and mentee performing together, or a piece reflecting on a legacy).

II. Submission & Result Announcement

Applicants must provide the required information in the following application form for review.

Selection will be made on a rolling basis, and result announcement will be made by email.

III. Terms & Authority

  • Final Selection: The Planning Committee holds the final authority and absolute discretion regarding the acceptance or rejection of any application.
  • Curation: The Planning Committee reserves the right to suggest minor adjustments to the performance to better align with the Youth Festival’s theme and technical constraints.
  • There will be a few PERFORMANCE ZONES located outdoors and indoors for different performance styles. After the confirmation, Across U-hub will communicate with each performer(s) on the best performance areas and the assigned timeslots for performance.

  • Performance Information

  • Preferred length is 5 to 20 minutes.
  • You may choose all timeslots for which you are available. Our team will follow up with you to confirm your assigned performance time.
  • Please briefly describe the concept and idea of your performance, and how you plan to present it. You may consider the following guiding questions:
    o How does your performance reflect the theme of "Striving" or "Passing the Torch"?
    o What is the "Life Value" experience you are sharing?
  • Please specify your technical requirements here, such as instruments, audio tracks, etc.
    Performers are reminded that they have to bring their instruments and required equipment for the event on June 20, 2026; and the audio tracks, such as MMO, has to be submitted to Across U-hub ONE week before the performance. Our team will follow-up with you about the equipment to be provided onsite, e.g. mics, speakers, etc.
  • Please provide the photo(s) and video or audio clip(s) of a previous performance or a rehearsal of the proposed piece; insert a link (e.g. YouTube or Google Drive) below and make sure it is set to "anyone who has link can access".

  • Application & Acceptance
    1. - Submit one application per performing artist / group.
    2. - You must list all categories, duration, concept, technical requirements and the reference that you intent to perform at the East Asian Youth Festival 2026. Anything not mentioned in your application will not be allowed for performing at the Youth Festival.
    3. - By submitting this application, you agree that Across U-hub can use your photos, audio and video clip(s) to promote your work(s) on our website and social media sites.
    4. - Performance timeslot(s) and placement will be pre-assigned, which may be changed at the Across U-hub's discretion.
    5. - Acceptance notifications will be sent by email, and please follow the instructions to secure participation.
    6. - If performer(s) do not confirm by the date to be set out in the acceptance notification, we will move on to the next performer(s) in line.
    7. - Across U-hub has the final decision to accept the application and/or materials.

    Youth Festival Participation

    6. - Across U-hub and the Venue will not be responsible for any loss of the display/instrument(s)/performance items. It is performer's responsibility to arrange and the transportation of their display/instrument(s)/performance items.

    Venue Rules & Safety
    1. - Open flames are not permitted at the venue at any time. This veto includes matches, lighters, candles, sterno burners, propane, natural gas, or any other type of flame.
    2. - No decorations or other items to be affixed to the walls (indoor) and the trees (outdoor). Helium balloons are not permitted at the venue.
    3. - Nothing shall be permitted to be done or displayed on the premises which are contrary to the Criminal Code, or any provincial or municipal acts, by-laws, or regulations.
    4. - The venue is a smoke-free facility. Smoking is not permitted anywhere inside its building or outdoor lawn and carpark.
    5. - Performer(s) are required to ensure all items for display, electrical / extension cord (if any) and all display structures are set up in a safe condition to allow any staff, volunteers, visitors or cleaning staff to move about freely without risk of injury. All display items and furnishing must be contained in the designated area.

    Event Policies
    1. - The Youth Festival takes place rain or shine. In the event of an emergency or cancellation, affected performer(s) will be given the opportunity to participate on another day.
    2. - While Across U-hub is not able to offer honorarium or performance fees, we are dedicated to providing a high-visibility platform for our community.
    3. - Across U-hub will promote all of our Youth Festival event through the following channels, including but not limited to: Facebook and Instagram posts, flyers, posters, community bulletin boards and websites to help drive community support and attendance.
    4. - The Youth Festival is an inclusive and safe space for everyone. We have a zero-tolerance policy for abusive language, bullying, and harassment of staff, volunteers, makers, vendors, performers and visitors.

    All matters not covered in above are at the sole discretion of Across U-hub.

  • Waiver Statement

  • 1. Liability for Damages
    The performer(s) shall assume all liability for all damages to Across U-hub and the venue caused directly and indirectly by the performer(s). The performer(s) will be responsible for the replacement or repair of any damaged furniture or equipment as well as any damage done to the facility.
    2. Multi-media Release
    As performer(s) of the East Asian Youth Festival 2026, the performer(s) hereby grant permission to Across U-hub the right to use, reproduce, and/or distribute photographs, films, videotapes, and sound recordings of the performer(s), taken during the Youth Festival without compensation or approval rights, for use in materials created for purposes of promoting the activities of Across U-hub only.
    3. Liability Waiver:
    As performer(s) of the East Asian Youth Festival 2026, the performer(s) also agree to release and forever discharge Across U-hub, their board members, committee members, employees and volunteers jointly and severally from any and all actions, causes of action, for damage, loss, injury or death, arising which may be sustained by participating in the Youth Festival. You also agree that Across U-hub shall not be held responsible for any loss or theft of your personal possessions.

Privacy Statement
Protecting your privacy and personal information is important to Across U-hub. It is, however, important for us to collect certain personal information from you in order to offer you effective and efficient services.

We will only collect information from you with your knowledge and consent; only use personal information provided by you for the purpose/s for which it was collected, not disclose your personal information to a third party without your prior consent, ensure that your personal information is not disclosed to other institutions except if required by law or other regulation, and remove your personal information from our system where it is no longer required.
