Who Are We

Across U-hub is a charitable community organization in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). We aim to build up young lives by inspiring individuals and motivating collective goals and actions. We dig deeper to identify the root causes of youth issues and we work together with community partners to generate a sustainable development model that positively impact the health and well-being of young people that leads to more lively families and communities.

Our Approach

Established in 2002 to serve young people aged 16 and above, Across U-hub has organized over 1,600 youth programs, serving over 85,200 participants.

Across U-hub provides a nurturing environment for youth’s all-round development, aiming to foster social and emotional, cultural, physical and spiritual growth. It is our vision to cultivate a generation of socially responsible local and global citizens as well as visionary leaders through building up their:

  • Confidence and Positive Self-concept
  • Communication Skills
  • Creative and Critical Thinking
  • Community Consciousness and Involvement
  • Compassionate Citizenship and Servant Leadership

Across U-hub provides a “Youth-Led” leadership development model to nurture over 170 volunteers each year through its authentic experiential leadership-training platform.

The platform available for learning and implementation are:

  • Creating and Maintaining the Effective Work Teams
  • Roles & Responsibilities
  • Team Work Coordination and Leadership
  • Planning, Marketing, Execution & Evaluation
  • Problem Solving and Risk Management

Across U-hub also emphasizes equity of access to our services for all youth regardless of family background. Therefore, most of our programs are either at nominal fees or free of charge. Where necessary, fees will either be further reduced or waived confidentially for individuals with financial need.

  • Christian values of faith, hope and love to guide the spiritual growth of our youth
  • Respect for and appreciation of multiculturalism
  • Well-rounded development of our younger generation physically, socially, emotionally, intellectually, and spiritually

  • Nurture our youth’s holistic Development

Social Innovator (2013)

James Mak, Across U-hub’s youth mentor for over 15 years is one of the recipients for the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for his contributions to the community.

Character Through the Arts Award (2012)

Chrisb Liu has received Character Through the Arts award for her innovative arts and design workshops in “Refeel” program and the mission trip to Sichuan after the earthquake.

Change Our World (2012)

Melody Ho has received Change Our World – Environment award for leading up “Tomorrow Starts Today” green initiative campaign.

Volunteer Toronto Legacy Award (2011)

Youth leaders and mentors Kitty Chan and Diana Lam have been nominated for the 2011 Volunteer Toronto Legacy Award in honor of the important contributions made by them to the community of volunteering in Toronto.
